Laura Jana, M.D., is a pediatrician, safety advocate and mother of three. I had the unique opportunity to ask some car seat safety questions of Britax’s safety expert, Dr. This is really just a beautiful piece of baby gear. It features enough canopy to cover your child from sun and combined with the infant carrier, you can cover baby entirely while they nap or to keep the sun/rain off them. But, its great for shopping and fits quite a bit. My old gripe would be the tension on it… if I throw my big diaper bag in there it collapses down requiring me to get down under there and really shove it in. The Chaperone stroller has a big basket thats easily accessible. I tend to chuck stuff under there in a hurry. One of my peeves is strollers with a weak basket underneath, or a basket that’s inaccessible. It also has two cup holders and a little storage bin up at the handle for the parent (love!) and a cup holder and tray for baby too. My old Peg Perego has split handles and pushing it with one hand is not an option. It rolls like a dream! it has an adjustable handle height to fit any parent and has a nifty comfort grip handle bar so pushing it with both hands OR one hand is super easy. It has larger wheels with “all wheel drive” so there isn’t any of that silly wheel wiggly turning backwards situations. Compared to other’s I’ve used the “glide” factor on this surpasses many traditional strollers. But if given a choice I really to like the performance and solid nature of this stroller. It has a ton of features my other stroller lacks and a few minor issues I’d love to see worked out. I have to admit I fell in love with this stroller pretty quick. Let’s talk about the Britax Chaperone Stroller too. This seat is bigger than my old one but weighs about the same. They all weigh a ton and with a big baby in it, its back breaking no matter how you slice it. Although I don’t think I’ve ever come across an infant carrier that is “easy” to carry. Britax designed the handle to be a little more ergonomic so carting them around is easier. It never fails that the only stream of sun lands on his face while I’m carting my other son back and forth to school so the large canopy is a huge help. One of the things I really love is the oversized canopy. The Infant Carrier is designed for baby’s comfort in mind and I do feel that my son (who is now 4 months old) fits in there snug and comfortable. However, I would imagine this would be the same problem with any rear facing larger car seat. I don’t drive a minivan and I had to move my seat up and ended up being too close to the wheel to drive. This was only problematic for me having him seated behind the driver. Compared to my old infant carrier this seat is considerably “taller” and therefore takes up a bit more space. Because of this the seat is a bit larger than some infant carriers. What’s also nice about this carrier is that it accommodates your baby up to 30 lbs so you can use it and all its safety features longer as well as keep them secure and rear facing longer. It also has No Re-Thread Head Restraint system which I can’t tell you how much easier it is to get the right fit without having to thread straps all over the seat (which is what my biggest complaint about my old Peg Perego). This system protects your baby by distributing crash forces and shielding your child from vehicle intrusion. The Chaperone Infant Carrier features Britax’s True Side Impact Protection system which we’re written about before. I’ll start with the infant carriers features. After spending a few months with it, we are happy to report many positive things about its performance and think it’s an excellent choice of travel systems on the market right now. We were given the unique opportunity to product test Britax’s new Chaperone Travel System. Last updated on August 19th, 2022 at 11:48 pm

Overall I would have been more positive about the course, if I had a better experience with the head pro in the pro shop. The pro should maybe invest a bit of money in new trollies. I had to take a normal trolley judging by the state of it, 20 years ago was fine. He was very welcoming, had a better attitude than the head pro and was great to speak to.ĭue to a change in tee time I did not receive the battery trolley that I had asked for. The assistant professional was on starter duties for the men’s open. I did not find the head professional very welcoming at all. His replies were very short and had attitude in his tone of voice. Many reviewers suppose that the dishes are offered for affordable prices. The pro shop was well stocked but i found the head professional to be “ very moody “ and quite abrupt in the way he spoke. If you want to experience fabulous service, you should visit this restaurant. I had asked earlier in the pro shop for a stroke saver but they don’t do them. There is a map of each hole on the tee with yardages available which was quite a good idea but I found this useless when you were on the fairway trying to work out a yardage to the flag. The hole lay out is basically almost 9 holes out in one direction and 9 holes going back in. if you went in the rough, it was very hard to find your ball. The rough was brutal, typical links rough. I was not in any bunkers so can’t say anything about them. I found the fairways to be scabby in places and in not great condition for a links course. If I’m being honest the course was okay, nothing outstanding. My latest plan is to create a 5/6 hole Junior Golf Course in the area between the greenskeepers sheds. I played in the course at the weekend and I was looking forward to playing it as it’s been a long time since I played it last. You had to know that as a Senior in High School, he drove his Freshman cousin to school every day and taught her to drive in his classic Chevelle on her 16th birthday that he would take a day off of work just to help a friend move, or fix your car. That he was fiercely protective of those he loved and never held a grudge. To really know Mikey, you had to know that he was the kind of person that would keep your secrets, would listen to you vent for hours. But to really know Mikey, you had to know so much more, like that he could fix anything with an engine, that he always wore a hat, that he was quiet and kind, and that he loved cars and animals. That he was a son, who was still mourning the loss of his father. If you were lucky enough to know Mikey, you know he was generous, kind, selfless, with so much life ahead of him, that he searched his whole life only to marry his soul mate within a year of his passing. Although he had the support of his loving wife, a large family and many friends, Mikey wasn’t one to share his feelings, he was more concerned with the feelings of those around him, and that’s what made him so special. But Mikey had a tough exterior, he wanted to be strong for his mother and sister, so he would always tell you he was okay. During what was supposed to be the most exciting time of his life, as a newlywed planning for a future with his wife, he was also grieving his father. Mike Sr.’s passing was quite unexpected and Mikey loved his father dearly losing him was the most difficult thing he has ever gone through. Shortly thereafter, his father passed away. These batteries have a diameter of 20 mm and a height of 1.6 mm. Cr2016 BatteryĬr2016 batteries are coin-shaped batteries that are commonly used in small electronic devices, like watches, calculators, and keyless entry systems. So, which type of button cell battery should you choose? If you need a battery with a lot of power, then go for a Cr2032 battery.īut if you just need a small battery for something like a key fob or remote control, then a Cr1620 will do the trick. You can usually find them for under $2 each. 2 In terms of price, Cr1620 and Cr2032 batteries are both very affordable. As a result, they have less capacity and don’t last as long as Cr2032 batteries. Cr1620 batteries are slightly smaller than Cr2032 batteries. So, what’s the difference between these two types of batteries? 1 The main difference between Cr1620 and Cr2032 batteries is their size. When it comes to button cell batteries, there are two main types: Cr1620 and Cr2032. So, if possible, it’s always best to use the recommended battery type for your device. However, keep in mind that the Cr2025 battery will have a shorter lifespan than the Cr2016 battery since it has less capacity. The two batteries are very similar in size and voltage, so they are interchangeable. So, what about if your device requires a Cr2025 battery but all you have is a Cr2016 battery?Ĭan you use the Cr2016 battery instead? The answer is yes, you can use a Cr2025 battery in place of a Cr2016 battery. For example, you wouldn’t want to use a AAA battery in a device that requires AA batteries. When it comes to batteries, there are a few things you need to know in order to make sure you’re using the right type for your device. In addition, the voltage and capacity of the two batteries are different, so using a Cr2025 battery in a device meant for a Cr2032 could damage your device or cause it to malfunction. The Cr2025 battery is thinner than the Cr2032 battery, so it will not make proper contact with a device made for a Cr2032 battery. While the batteries may look similar, they are not interchangeable. Cr2025 batteries are not compatible with devices that require a Cr2032. If you have a device that uses a Cr2032 battery, it is important to use that specific type of battery. Enjoy your new, longer-lasting battery! Can I Use Cr2025 Instead of Cr2032?.Insert the new Cr2032 battery into your device.Remove the old Cr2016 battery from your device. Which providers offer virtual cards?Ĭiti, American Express, Capital One, Visa and Mastercard support the ability to generate virtual cards, either directly through the card or with a separate app or browser extension.īank of America, Discover, Chase and Wells Fargo don’t offer virtual cards, but they do offer digital wallet solutions. While you can use a virtual card for all online purchases that accept credit cards, digital wallets can only be used at participating retailers, whether online or in-store. However, digital wallets are not accepted everywhere. Much like a virtual card, most digital wallets will generate a temporary card number when you make a purchase, ensuring that your actual card number is never actually exposed to a merchant. Digital wallets - like Apple Pay and Google Pay - store a digital version of your physical credit or debit card, with the exact card numbers. A digital wallet operates similarly to a virtual card, but there are some noteworthy differences. Is a virtual card different from a digital wallet? You can then start using that number to make your purchase online or via the card app. Once your virtual card is generated, you may be able to modify some settings such as the spending limit or expiration date. In some cases, you may need to download a specific app for the virtual credit card. Depending on your card issuer, you’ll be able to generate a temporary card through either their online portal or app. In some cases, like with many Citi credit cards, you can request a virtual card by logging into your account online, either via the web or your card issuer’s app, and looking for the Virtual Credit Card or Virtual Card Numbers settings option. You’ll need to have a physical card from the credit company before you can request a virtual card. Most major card issuers - barring Chase and Discover - now offer some form of a virtual card. These temporary cards typically last for a short period of time - usually just 24 hours, though some providers may maintain a temporary card for up to one year. It’s the card number that a merchant sees when you complete a transaction with them. What is a temporary card?Ī temporary card is what’s generated each time you create a new virtual card or change the virtual card number that you are using to make a purchase. That said, virtual cards can only be used for online purchases, some over-the-phone transactions and (if you add your virtual card to Apple Pay or Google Pay) at qualifying physical stores that accept those Apple or Google payment platforms. You can create new card numbers for different stores, change your card number on the fly, set spending limits and even lock or delete a card number without having it affect your actual account. Virtual cards provide much more flexibility. They’re generally - but not always - intended for one-time use, so even if a company you’ve done business with falls victim to a data breach and your card number is retrieved, your actual account won’t be compromised. Virtual cards can generate a unique card number for each transaction you make, protecting your real account number. What’s different about a virtual card, though, is that it doesn’t have the same security limitations as a physical card. You’ve likely been asked to read your card number over the phone or enter it when shopping online, so you already have an idea of how this works. For some cards, you cannot guarantee car rentals or pay at unmanned petrol pumps and toll roads. The easiest way to think of a virtual credit card may be to simply imagine your credit card without its physical form, reduced to a 16-digit primary account number. However, the advantage of a prepaid card is that you have the same payment convenience as with a regular credit card. So prepaid card work similar to that of regular bank cards, because one can only make expenses as far the balance allows it. Therefore, a BKR-review is not necessary, because no credit or loan is provided. This means that making purchases without a positive balance is not possible. With a prepaid card, often called debit card, it is intended that the user first transfers money to the credit card before he can pay with it. This makes the prepaid card ideal for people who somehow cannot get a normal credit card, for example because of a limited income or negative BKR listing. The advantage of a prepaid card is that you can never spend more than you have deposited on the card. I'm guessing this is because 2mm leads are clay-bound and unlike polymer the recipe is 'traditional' to each manufacturer. I know they're not really in the mainstream of Dave's interest, but something possibly interesting is the apparent variation of hardnesses between manufacturers. With a harder lead I seem to press too hard (without being aware) in order to get a blacker line.Īs a separate matter, I've been experimenting with the vintage pleasures of 2mm clutch pencils. I've found that using a softer lead than my default choice (ie use B or even 2B instead of HB) makes me press less hard and break leads less often. Which is too bad, because the pencil is just a bit less useful if it requires a specialty size refill. Next I tried the art supply store lead, which I somehow think would have to conform to the 5.6mm standard - and it wouldn't go in the Leonardo! I put in the Bexley lead - and there were no problems at all. I haven't actually changed the Leonardo's lead previously. I can't visually see any difference amongst them, and don't have any way of measuring 1/10th of a millimeter. I also have some leads from Bexley (for the Multi-Max) that are not labelled as to dimension, and some no name leads from art supply stores. So maybe 5.6mm isn't as much of a standard as So I remembered a box of Koh-I-Noor 5.6mm leads I have - and lo and behold, they are labelled "5,45 mm". Looking at the Leonardo instruction booklet, it does say 5.5mm, and a Montblanc refill tube is labelled: Leads of 2mm and over are usually for use in clutch mechanism pencils – leadholders, clutch pencils, sketch pencils or whatever you prefer to call them. For instance, I believe that the standard 2mm leads sold by Staedtler and Faber-Castell are just their normal wood pencil ceramic leads (without the wood!). In between it’s a mixture, but mostly polymer. I think it’s safe to say that under 1mm they are all polymer leads, and 2mm and over are all ceramic leads. Somewhere in the 1 to 2mm range they usually change. Most manufacturers offer far fewer grades.Īnother point of interest is the change from ceramic to polymer leads. For instance in 0.5mm Pentel offer 12 grades, but only 5 grades in 0.9mm. Other diameters have considerably less selection of brands and hardness’s. But thats variable, one manufacturer marks some of their HB pencils as #2 and some as #2 ½ !?Ġ.5mm and 0.7mm are unquestionably the most common lead diameters and have a wide range of hardness grades available. As a rough guide, for the USA, #1 = B, #2 = HB, #2 ½ = F, #3 = H and #4 = 2H. From the softest darkest through to the hardest lightest lead, the range is usually 6B up to B, then HB, F, and H up to 6H, but some manufactureres may go from about 9B through to 10H. Slightly darker and softer is B, which is about #1. The standard writing grade is usually HB, which is about #2 in the USA. So HB grade is Hard Black, 6B is extremely soft and dark, 4H is very hard and light. The more H's in the designation the lighter (and harder) the lead, and the more B's the softer and darker. In the middle there is also an F (for Firm). Leads are often called #1, #2 etc in the USA, but most of the rest of the world uses the "HB" system. There is no real standardisation of lead hardness or darkness. Confusing, but in general with these “variable” leads the differences don’t seem to matter as they are all the same thickness or the pencil mechanisms involved can handle the differences. Faber-Castell lead refills are marked 1.0(0.9) and 0.35(0.3), but Pentel mark theirs the other way around, 0.3(0.35). For example my Rotring Tikky 1.0 takes a 0.9mm lead. For example 0.3mm lead is usually 0.35mm just rounded down 1.1mm and 1.2mm are usually 1.18mm rounded down or up, but sometimes 1.1mm is really 1.1mm as distinct from 1.18mm. Many of them started out as imperial fractions of an inch so the metrication of them also produced rounding. One problem is that some sizes are frequently rounded up and/or down to another number, without any consistency, so you are sometimes unsure what diameter you really have. The lead in ordinary wood pencils is usually about 2mm = 0.0787 inches = a little under 1/12th inch. A common writing size is 0.5mm = 0.0197 inches = about 1/50th of an inch. Nowadays mechanical pencil lead diameters are all measured in metric. Lead sizes are designated by their diameter, in millimetres (mm).Ġ.3mm / 0.35mm (Usually the same thing, just rounded down to 0.3)Ġ.5mm (The common fine writing thickness)Ġ.7mm (Common writing thickness, stronger than 0.5)ġ.18mm / 1.1mm / 1.15mm / 1.2mm (Usually the same - a whole lot of different rounding values for the same stick of lead!) Standard Mechanical Pencil Lead Sizes (diameters) (Currently In Common Use) I have been prompted to publish this posting by people finding this blog with searches indicating they are looking for lists of lead diameters that are currently readily available, and some information on lead grades or hardness. The "Save Map" button allows you to save the currently shown map as png image file. You can always remove and add the marker by double clicking on the map. The lower inputs allow you to go to a specific point (e.g., your base) of the map and set a marker there. You can use the slider below the map or your mousewheel for zooming. To scroll, use your arrow keys while your mouse cursor points at the map, or move your mouse while holding down the left mouse button. Once you entered your seed and version you can start using the map. The app does this the same way Minecraft does, so it's safe to use letters (and other characters) as well. If you type in anything else (like letters), it will be converted to a number. You should also know that a seed is always a number (up to around 20 digits). When loading a seed from a level, the seed will automatically be stored as a level. Levels allow you to store and reuse seeds on this website, without having to load your savegame every time. On Windows you can use %appdata%\.minecraft\saves to get to that folder. You can find the savegames in the saves folder of your Minecraft installation. Level.dat is a small file located in the folder of every Minecraft savegame. The latter can be done by clicking on "Load from Save." and selecting your level.dat, or by drag&dropping the level.dat file into your browser window. You can either type it in manually, or you can load it from your savegame. The first thing you should do is select a seed and version. |
